Fifteen Romance Reads for Valentine’s Month
I love Valentine’s Day.
I love romance and love and sweet nothings, and I love the celebration of it all that this month holds! 😍
So here’s my list of different types of romance novels that I’ve loved & would recommend you read during this mushy-gushy month!!

Contemporary:
Abby Jimenez and Emily Henry are the QUEEEENNSSSSSS of romance!! Y’all can fued over which one you think is better, but I find them to be equivalent, and I love them endlessly. Their romance novels aren’t just sweet fluff - they have flawed characters that struggle with real-life issues (like grief, abandonment, and anxiety), but their stories are still so full witty banter, lol moments, bring you to your knees sadness (short-lived!), and just the right amount of tension & spice, tied up with the happiest of happy endings. 🤌🏻 Truly, these stories are works of art, and I love them. I’ve linked the ones that I most love by these superior authors!
Fantasy:
The Seven Year Slip is a magical realism romance rather than a high-fantasy like the rest of these, and it’s just so sweet & so good. Personally, I’d put it on par with Abby Jimenez & Emily Henry. 👀
If you haven’t heard of the wildly awesome thrill-ride that Fourth Wing is, I just need to know which rock you’ve been hiding under. 😂 My book club read it shortly after it came out, and we, as a whole, have been obsessed with this magical, war-college, dragon-riding romantasy ever since.
Speaking of romantasy, ACOTAR may just be the O.G. I’ve read it twice and adore the series, but I will say - you must read book through two before you abandon the series. It’s a slow-burn that is worth every second of waiting. Trust me.
If you’re looking for a giant warm hug, look no further than The House in the Cerulean Sea. This story made me LOL and “awww” the whole way through. It’s such a surprising delight - no spice. Just love of every kind in the purest, sweetest story. I audioed it, and 10/10 highly recommend you do so, too.
Historical:
I’m not normally into being wrecked by books, but… gah, these are just SO. GOOD. OMG. They all three wrecked me in the best ways, and you just need to read them, too. Again, trust me.
Different:
If you’re looking for something that’s a little more off-the-wall, check out The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches and the Finlay Donovan series. The Very Secret Society is very warm & sweet, where Finlay Donovan is more of a wild mystery series that’s just crazy & fun. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed both stories.
❓You tell me - what are some other romance novels that you’d highly recommend that I didn’t put on my list?? ↴
